Like Cinderella at the midnight hour, the final buzzer in Grand Rapids, Mich., changed everything for the Aeros on Saturday night. Not only did the crushing 7-0 defeat end the Aeros' season and send the Griffins to the second round of the AHL playoffs, it heralded the end of the Aeros as a franchise. There will be no glass slipper or Prince Charming to save the day, either. The Minnesota Wild, unable to agree with Toyota Center on a new lease for its farm team and with no other suitable venue available in the area, announced plans to relocate the Aeros to Des Moines, Iowa.
